Day 1 Dar es Salaam Airport (DAR) to Hotel in Dar es Salaam :

Arrive at Dar es Salaam International Airport, where an Adventure Makers Representative will welcome you and will escort you to your beachfront hotel in the bustling town of Dar. Despite its name, which means, “abode of peace” in Arabic, Dar es Salaam is Tanzania’s largest and busiest city. Day 2 Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve :

Today, we fly from Dar es Salaam for Selous Game Reserve. At the airstrip, an Adventure Makers representative, will welcome you to Selous and escort you to your lodge. Due to the long journey, you will feel tired and thus we recommend a much needed rest for the day. Tomorrow, the real safari of Selous begins. A hot lunch will be ready for you upon arrival at the lodge. The day is left for you at your leisure, dinner will be served as per your convenience. Day 3 At Selous Game Reserve :

Leave for an exciting Full Day Game Drive in the park. The concentrations of wildlife in the Selous are understandably huge. It boasts Tanzania’s largest population of Elephant – currently about 10,000 animals – as well as some of Africa’s largest numbers of Buffaloes, Hippos, Nile Crocodiles and Wild Dogs. Day 4 At Selous Game Reserve :

We quickly finish with our morning breakfast and leave for Walking Safari – the exciting sightings in the park awaits us. Giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, warthog and impala are plentiful and you are very rarely out of sight of an animal. The walks are mostly situated in a very elephant rich area and walking safely in the proximity of these massive mammals is a feeling unrivalled by any other. Return to the lodge for hot lunch. After which, we leave for an afternoon boating safari. Experience the safari in traditional ways, where you watch the wildlife come to the banks of the river to quench their thirst. Day 5 At Selous Game Reserve :

Today, we leave for a Full Day Game Drive after our nice and healthy breakfast at the lodge. The concentration of animals along the river is astonishing. Linked to the Rufiji is Lake Tagalala where Waterbuck, Reedbuck and Bushbuck gather at the water’s edge. Magnificent Sickle-Horned Sable and Curly-Horned Greater Kudu tend to keep to the longer grass and wooded shrubby areas. Day 6 Selous to Morogoro Region :

Morogoro Region is located on the eastern side of Tanzania Mainland.The Region lies between latitudes 5˚58′ and 10˚00′ South of the Equator and between longitudes 35˚25′ and 38˚30′ East of Greenwich. Morogoro is one of the regions in Tanzania endowed with a number of wildlife natural resources around it. The Region has two of the famous National Parks of the country, namely Mikumi and Udzungwa. Also, part of famous the Selous Game Reserve (the largest game reserve in Africa) is in this region. Breakfast, lunch & dinner Nashera Hotel


Day 7 Morogoro Region to Mufindi :

We will first have our healthy breakfast at the lodge, and then set off for Mufindi Highlands with picnic lunch box. Cool healthy mountain air, evenings around a log fire, trout fishing, horse riding and stunning scenery are just a few of the reasons for visiting the Mufindi – high up on the Rift Valley escarpment and discovering a different aspect of the African bush. Day 8 At Mufindi :

Mufindi is surrounded by pristine tea estates, dark thick montane forest and rugged bushland interlaced with lakes, rivers and streams. Although not on the usual ‘tourist’ route, Mufindi offers it’s own brand of magic. Ideal for relaxing with a good book, or burning off energy there is something for everyone. Mufindi Highland is a place which seems not located in Africa – but well, it is. Activities one can indulge themselves in are : Fly Fishing, Mountain biking, Horse riding, Bird watching, Canoeing, Golfing, Walking and Scenic drives. Day 9 Mufindi to Ruaha National Park :

Just after our nice and healthy breakfast, we set off for Ruaha with our Safari Driver Guide, who will inform you about the basic information you require to know about the park and its contents. As we have to cover a long journey, we leave our lodge in Udzungwa early in the morning. But before we leave, we will enjoy an early morning trek. In 2008 the Usangu Game reserve merged its borders with Ruaha transforming it into Tanzania’s largest national park covering over 15,000 sq. km. This new park itself is at the heart of a much larger ecosystem covering over 40,000 sq. km. Rest, relax and rejuviante, your real safari begins tomorrow. Day 10 At Ruaha National Park :

Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the surroundings in the massive national park in the south. The highlights of a trip to Ruaha is watching the elephant herds (the greatest concentration in Africa) gathered around the mighty Ruaha River; the lifeblood of the park. It is a good place for seeing Lion, Buffalo, Elephant and Painted Dog (African Wild Dog). Grants Gazelle, Ostrich and Cheetah may be seen on the plains as well. Day 11 At Ruaha National Park :

Today, we leave for a Morning Game Drive after our nice and healthy breakfast at the lodge. The park is one of the Tanzania birds’ paradise with more than 571 species and some of them are known to be migrants from within and outside Africa. In the afternoon, we leave for a visit to the nearby Masaai Village after our lunch at the lodge. According to our past experiences, guests who do a visit to these villages, always find it as an interesting and enriching experience for them. Day 12 Ruaha National Park to Udzungwa Mountains National Park :

With a total area of 2,000 km² – Udzungwa Mountains National Park contains the greatest altitudinal range of forests in East Africa – the eastern escarpment is the only place in East Africa with unbroken forest cover from lowland forest communities at below 250 m above sea level, through intermediate types, to mountain communities at over 2,800 m. Because of such a wide range in altitude and habitat types, Udzungwa National Park has one of the highest numbers of species endemism worldwide. Day 13 At Udzungwa Mountains National Park :

Six species of primate are found here and two are endemic, the Iringa (Uhehe) Red Colobus monkey, and the Sanje Crested Mangabey, which was discovered in 1979. There is also a rich small bovid community including good numbers of Red, Blue and Abbots Duikers, and Bushbuck. Udzungwa also has the richest forest bird habitat in Tanzania. Several endemics have just been discovered recently (including a new species of Francolin and the Rufus-winged Sun Bird). Breakfast, picnic lunch & dinner Udzungwa Falls Lodge


Day 14 Udzungwa Mountains National Park to Bagamoyo :

Bagamoyo Bay has long been an important center of maritime trade. During the Shirazi era, the main center of activity was Kaole, whose ruins lie 5 Km south of the modern town. Founded in the 12th century, Kaole enjoyed strong trade links with Kilwa, and prospered for the three centuries prior to the Portuguese occupation, when it fell into economic decline, eventually to be abandoned. Ironically, Bagamoyo’s trade links to the interior ensured that it became the springboard for the European exploration of the African interior, which in turn played a major role in ending the slave trade. Day 15 At Bagamoyo :

Situated on a superb white beach some 70 Km north of Dar es Salaam, Bagamoyo ranks among the most historically compelling towns in East Africa, having flourished in the 19th century as the mainland terminus for the slave trade between Lake Tanganyika and Zanzibar. Despite its proximity to Dar es Salaam, Bagamoyo slid backwards setting and deep sense of history have never generated as much tourist interest as might be expected… Breakfast, lunch & dinner Oceanic Bay Hotel & Resort


Day 16 Bagamoyo to Dar es Salaam Airport (DAR) :

Today, we return to Dar es Salaam. Enjoy your morning breakfast overlooking the sandy beaches of Bagamoyo and relive your memories, as you spend the last few hours in the historic town of Bagamoyo. After breakfast, your Safari Driver Guide will drive you back to Dar es Salaam. Bed and breakfast
